add up the values in the cells containing large, midcap, small cap

i want to add up the values in a column which is equal to the valu
given in the adjacent column

for eg

column1 column2
15.00 Large
10.00 Small
11.00 Midcap
09.00 Large

i want to add up how much is large total which will come from column
in the above example large will be 1st row and the last row which i
24.00
i hope i am clear in asking what i want...can anybody help me.

I'd suggest using a Pivot Table. They're easy to use and
often quicker to set up than any other method. For a
