Added movieclip plays too fast

I have a movieclip in avi format that is playing normal speed in mediaplayer,
winamp, etc. But when it is inserted in powerpoint it freaks out and displays
my 39 sec clip in 3 sec????

it is a ripped clip from a DVD using Plato DVD ripper free 6,66.

Hoping for help. Thank U.
