Helo!!!!!
I need to add a color indicator to the percent complete like 100% = green
50 to 80 = yellow and all else red or add a status field that does this or
point to a cell on a created excell sheet that already does this and just
pull the information for that cell from the corresponding cell on the
worksheet. Thanks Kathy

Kathy,

You could use a formula like this one:
IIf([% Complete]>=80;"Green";IIf([% Complete]>=50;"Yellow";"Red"))
Insert a Text(x) field such as Text1, then
Tools / Customize / Fields...
Formula : the above formula,
Graphical indicator :
- Test for: Text1; Equals: Green; Image : Green smiley...

Hope this helps,

Hi Kathy,

For the color indicator:

Insert a custom Text field (Text1 for example) into a table using Insert
Column. After you have inserted the field right click on the Text1
column heading and select Customize Fields... from the shortcut menu.

In the Customize Fields dialog box click the Formula... button to show
the Formula dialog box. In the formula area enter:
[% Complete]

Click the OK button to close the Formula dialog box and return to the
Customize Fields dialog box. In the Customize Fields dialog box under
the Calculation for task and group summary rows click the option button
to the left of Use formula.

In the Customize Fields dialog box under the Values to display, click
the Graphical Indicators... button to open the Graphical Indicators
dialog box. In the Test for Text1 area enter:

First Row:
Test: is less than
Value(s): 50
Image: Red flag or circle or one to your liking

Second Row:
Test: is less than
Value(s): 100
Image: Yellow

Third Row:
Test: Equals
Value(s): 100
Image: Green

Note: I have changed the criteria somewhat from what you initially
stated. I assume any task less than 50% complete you want with a red
indicator, from 50% to 99% a yellow indicator, and 100% a green
indicator.

For additional details, see Mike Glen's excellent series of articles on
MS Project at:

Article 15 "Customizing Fields 2" gives additional information.

You may also like to explore the Status Indicator field. The field
displays indicators that go beyond a simple % Complete. For details on
the field's calculations, insert the Status Indicator field, hover your
mouse over the column heading and click on the hyperlink for "Help about
Status Indicator."

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
