Adding a form field to a protected form

I have a form that is protected to enter data, and unprotected to add fields (normal). Is there a way to add fields to a form without losing the data I have already entered? When I add fields, then protect the form again, all my data is lost! Luckily, I saved before trying this and still have the data entered. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Found my own solution...

However, now I can't export the macros and just import them for all the templates I have that use forms. Any ideas? Thanks.
