Adding appointment to Calendar

I have been using Outlook for the past year or so, and this morning when I
opened it up, I am not able to add any scheduled appointments to the
calendar. The appointment is deleted, and a pop up reads "Could not save
item." Any suggestions?

Start with resetting the view.
