Adding fonts / increasing sizes

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Can someone tell me how to:

a) Add fonts downloaded, e.g. from www.1001freefonts? Or is there some other good source?

b) Increase the font size greater than what's displayed in the font drop-down, e.g. from 72 to twice the size?

My immediate need is to make a large poster sign. Should I be using a different program?
Thanks very much.

1) Drag them into one of your font folders and re-boot. You don't really
need to re-boot.

2) Type the size you want in the size box. The limit is above 1,000
points.

Cheers

Thank you so much! It never entered my mind that I could just type in the font size! It works!
