Adding fonts to Word or Works

I am new to the Works that came with a new computer. I would like to add the fonts that are in the Control Panel's fonts folder to those already present in the word processor of Works. Is this possible? Alternatively, is it possible to add those fonts to those already present in Word 2000?

Word will automatically use all the TrueType fonts that are in the
Fonts folder, but only if you choose a printer other than "Generic".
