Adding information to a scanned form

I want to scan a form and store it as a word document/template. I then want
to be able to type information into the boxes that are on the form. I have
tried storing the form as a word document but it will not allow me to enter
data. Does anyone know of a way of solving my problem.

You could save the "document" with your scanned form inserted as a
background image, and then insert text boxes in the location that you
want to type information.
