Adding item to group losses animation settings

Apologies if this is a FAQ.

When I add an item to a group of objects, is there any way of retaining the
custom animation settings for the original group?

Unfortunately, this is normal PowerPoint behavior.

I believe the best work-around is to use Animation Carbon to copy the
animation, change your group, than reapply the animation.
