adding multiple placeholders to master slide

I want to create 4 text placeholders in my master slide
that have a animations applied to each one. Does anyone
know if this is possible. I have tried and so far
Powerpoint will only let me have two placeholders on my
master slide.

Kristin,
That is correct, you can't add any placeholders to the master slide, sorry.
On the other hand if you type text in the date/footer/number placeholder
which you can modify (make it bigger, move it to another location) that
would do the trick. Of course you could not add numbering or date to your
slides then.

Kristin,
Forgot to tell you, if you put text in the date/footer/numbering placeholder
you won't be able to modify it in your ordinary slides though. In other
words you won't be able to click on them and put other text in.
Sorry if this leaves you nowhere.

Kristin,

you cannot change the number of placeholders, you can only use the slide
layouts PowerPoint provides by default. You could use the workaround Luc
suggested.

Or you could create a slide with four text boxes or rectangles, type a word
of sample text into them, animate them and save this slide with your
template. Whenever you need this type of slide, you do not use "Insert | New
slide", but make a copy of your sample slide.

Kind regards,
Ute
