adding new accounts failed

Hi there,

When I try to add another account to outlook when I finish the process and
am back to the folder view, the new account only has deleted items icon in
its folder but no inbox, calendar, sent items etc...

I have tried doing a detect and repair as I believe a file is missing or
corrupted but this does not help.

Hope someone has an idea about the problem.

Hi Sue,

I've got my default account for IHUG (NZ ISP) as my default account working
fine. But the account I'm trying to add is to recover Gmail. Also when I try
to set up the account and i test the settings with the test button, all of
them work except the last one which is "send test message"

Hi,

I've followed the instructions and all is correct. Also my ISP allows
sending through another smtp as I am able to do it on Thunderbird.

The srange thing is how nothing shows up in the folder list view in outlook
as I would expect to see a directory structure for the account even if the
settings were incorrect.

Read the installation instructions again. Gmail installs as a POP account
and thus will download new messages into your default Inbox.

If you're still unable to send, then something is wrong with your
configuration, perhaps the port number.
