Adding new subtasks from Project Server

Bunmi

Hi All,

To me, it does not make sense how in Project web access,
resources are only able to add tasks to summary taks,
meaning (as far as I understand) that you need to Create
a task, and make sure you have at least one subtasks
under that assigned to a resource, before that resource
can create entries for themselves...

can someone explain why this is the way project web
access forces you to do it? does it make sense?

thanks all!

Bunmi:

Resources can create tasks at the top level of the plan or for any Summary
task grouping to which they have already been assigned tasks. In either
case, this doesn't absolve the Project Manager's responsibility for
sequencing and linking, which can't be done through Project Web Access.

I have found, in Project 2003, even when a team member adds a new task to a particular summary task, this asociation is ignored and the task is added to the bottom of the plan. Any ideas if I'm doing something wrong?

Perhaps you are, but I can't see what you're doing. The feature has always
behaved as expected form me.
