Adding Office 2007 Components after Installing SP1

I have Office 2007 Ultimate. Since I only have a dialup connection, I
installed SP1 using the office2007sp1-kb936982-fullfile-en-us.exe download
last month and have kept subsequent updates installed using Microsoft Update.

Yesterday I installed Visio 2007 and Project 2007. Now Microsoft Update
says I need to download and install SP1 (an optomistic 20+ hours using
dialup). I tried re-running the SP1 executable, but it says the service pack
is already installed and exits.

I "hid" the SP1 update so that the smaller updates would download, but I
assume that SP1 contains updates for Visio and/or Project that need to be
installed, or maybe the installation wrote over something.

Either way, how do I get SP1 properly reinstalled?

Thanks,

John

If you installed Visio and Project 2007 then you need the SP1 that goes with them.
Afaik you need to download SP1 for Visio and Project. It is not the same SP1 that
you have already downloaded. Go to a friend who has a fast connection and download
it there to a CD\DVD

Yes they have their own updates. But the updates are "small" and I have
already downloaded and installed them. However, the big update for Office
2007 SP1 is still in my update list. If I run the downloaded SP! exe it says
the update is already installed. My fear is that updates that depend on SP1
will not be shown because the update service does not think I have the needed
prerequisites.

Let me clarify a bit. I installed the updates for Visio and Project that
showed up on the Microsoft Update site. After an hour and a half of trying I
finally got connected to the Office Update site and there are separate SP1
packages for Visio and Project (102 MB and 88 MB respectively) that do not
show up on the Microsoft Update site. Perhaps they are also included in the
big Office SP1 and that is why it is showing up again. I will download and
install them and see if that fixes

Ok, I have downloaded and installed SP1 for Visio 2007 and for Project 2007.

No change! Microsoft Update still says I need to install SP1 for Office 2007
but when I run the executable version of SP1 for Office 2007 it says the
update is already installed.

So how do I convice Microsoft Update that SP1 for Office 2007 is installed?

Please don't tell me I have to uninstall Office 2007 and then re-install it.
There has to be an easier way to fix this than that!

FYI for anyone monitoring this. I finally dragged the machine to a friend
with DSL and let Microsoft Update re-install Office 2007 SP1. That worked so
I no longer have to "hide" the update. I still have no idea why the full SP1
executable would re-apply whatever updates were needed.
