Adding Predecessor is not adjusting task start date

I have never had this problem before. I am specifying finish to start
predecessors for tasks, but the task dates (specifically the start dates) are
not adjusting accordingly. I have checked that there are no constraints on
the tasks, and that there is a resource assigned. What is happening?

Is there only one predecessor? If not, the other predecessor(s) may be
driving the task.

Is there progress on the task? If there is an Actual Start date, project
won't move a task.

If you have Project 2007 use the Task drivers toll (tool menu) and see what
it says.

Hit the F9 key and see if it recalculates. If so go to tools menu / options
/ calculation tab and set it to automatic.
If it doesn't, then look to see if the task has an actual start or that the
resource has working time on the day you expect them to start.

HI,

Ultimately, when nothing goes, and neither Rod's nor Jack's advice help, you
may have a circular relationship.
Delete the links from and to summary tasks one by one and see whether it
solves the problem.
