Adding Research Services

How do I add Encyclopedia Britannica, to which I already subscribe, to my
Word 2003 Research Task Pane? When I type in www.britannica.com in the "Add
Services" dialog box of the Research Options, I get the message "No services
were added because the provided did not provide any valid information". I
have also tried to add http://en.wikipedia.org with the same disappointing
result. Thanks.

Those research services aren't compatible with Office 2003's research
engine. I don't know if they have compatible links that you might specify
using different URLs.

Here's an article about creating compatible services:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/rssdk/html/rsSamplesGoogle.asp

and something similar for Amazon:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d.../html/OfficeCreateAnAmazonResearchService.asp

It's all a bit more than I care to digest this afternoon, though. ;-)

However, here's a link to a compatible research service (undoubtedly, there
are more, but I just wanted to assure myself that the error message doesn't
always occur):

http://myst-technology.com/myst-service/services/FindWhatORS

If you add that service, Office doesn't give you the error message. I've no
clue, however, whether that site contains any useful research resources. All
I know is that it doesn't give you the error message.

I hope this helps...
