Adding sound "Greyed Out" ?

After "Upgrading to Office 2000" I am unable to add a sound file to a web
page. My feeling is that in downloading the "Updates to my system [OS is
XP] I have "corrupted" the Office 2000 and Front page Soft ware. Following
the help suggestion is NO help as the Sound option is "Grayed OUT"

Please advise what "Critical Update" I have to delete to be able to use the
utility.

With a web open, click Tools > Page Options, then click the Compatibility
tab and make sure all are set to custom.
