How do I add an additional "AutoLayouts" text box to a Master slide? I can get two, but I need four.

You can't. At least not in 2004 or previous.

In Windows 2007 you can, and I'll assume the same is true of 2008.

Confirmed on that one for PowerPoint 2008, Steve.
Go to the View - Slide Master menu, select a desired
slide layout in the slide sorter pane, and then do
an Insert - Layout Placeholder to put your new placeholder in.

Ah, good. I figured it had to be in there someplace.
