I hope that I've posted this to the correct Discussion Group. If not, I'd appreciate it if someone could direct me appropriately.
The organziation I work for requires that certain information, especially the path and filename, appear in the footer of all documents. I have been able to set this up in Excel but I'm stuck as to how to do it in Word2002.
I usually remember to do it but some of my less computer literate colleagues (think social workers and teachers) routinely forget the path and file name and then can't remember the name of the file and where they saved it which wastes a lot of time while we all try to search for it.
I'd like to set up something for them so that they don't have to remember to do it. Since they're not strong computer users, it needs to be absolutely automatic. For exmple, if I gave them a new template, they'd never remember to use it and we'd be right back where we started.
I've tried modifying the normal.dot template and although it shows the path and file name, it's for normal.dot and doesn't change when I save a document.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
