Adding to design template

I would like to add a sub title placeholder in my master slide, so
that this is reflected throughout the presentation

Anyone know how to do this?

me,

You cannot add an extra placeholder. A subtitle is an often requested feature.

The only workaround is to create a set of slides exactly how you want them layed out. Then "duplicate" them before you
edit them.

You could use the "Footer" placeholder and place it where you want on your
slide, type in what you want, and make sure it is checked (turned on) on
"View", "Headers and Footers".

I have tried the footer option, but when I am in Slide view, it does
not allow me to edit the text...
On the master, I dragged the footer box up, typed some text, then went
"view", "headers footers", and the Footer box is ticked... am I doing
this right?

Thanks
