Additional Characters Added to Outlook signature

Outlook is adding the following characters to the beginning of my
signature (hopefully they display) :



It does not seem to matter what font or encoding I'm using, or how
simple my signature is (even a signature of "Ben Carlson" will produce
the characters).

Several other people have had this problem:
