Additional table for survey data

M

Maurice

We have created a table of subjects with respective fields [e.g. name,
company, phone, etc]. Each of the individuals have responded to a survey.
The questions were T/F, Multiple choice, Ad lib, and likert scale. We seek a
way to document the respondents answers in a way that would link the answers
to the respondent. Ideally, we would like to minimize the efforts in
transferring data into a table. Is there a way to introduce a survey
question one at a time so that the question can entered once and the preset
responses as in multple choice appear as a drop down to be selected? The
respondents have replied by text in word documents and text in emails. Any
assistance in leveraging the power of Access would be appreciated greatly.

I am not sure I completely understand what you are looking for..but hopefully
this helps a bit.

I would use each question as your actual field NAME. Then program your field
to how you want the info to go in (a multiple choice question would be a
list/combo box) and yes/no would be that...etc. This would help once you are
ready to pull info it would be formulated and consistent.

Good Luck!

Ms. Marie:

Much thanks for your timely answer. We have found that the length of the
questions exceeds what is allowable. Any way to modify this? Also some
characters are being rejected. We are removing them one by one. We would
also want to know if the questions should be added to a separate table?
Also, we are novices and want to know if once the questions are added as
fields is there a simple way to have preset answers drop down so that one of
them can be selected. If too difficult, we can cut and paste each
respondents answer. We truly appreciate any guidance on this task.

Cordially,
Maurice
