Repurr

Hi,

I hope someone can help me. I am getting a new laptop (running Vista Home
Basic) and want to know if I can purchase an additional licence (and where
from)so I can install the copy of Office Home and Student 2007 which I have
already purchased, rather than purchasing another copy of the software.

Thanks for your help

Assuming that you use it for non-business use, I thought that you can
install it on three family computers.

HSE allows for installation on three computers in the same household for
personal use only.

This is not an answer - but a warning - be careful when you make a purchase
from this website. I purchased the 2007 Home Student software and received 2
e-mail confirmations and they deducted $164.94 twice from my bank account.
No live person to speak with. Customer service is not by any means "human"
friendly.

Is your copy of Office Home and Student 2007 an OEM version? If yes, you
will need to buy another. If retail, you are allowed to install on 3 PC's.

First, note that even though you accessed the newsgroups from Microsoft.com
these newsgroups aren't necessarily related to Microsoft.com. They (MS) host
the news servers and provide an interface to the newsgroups but the
newsgroups are accessed by a variety of newsreaders and other web sites.

Second, I'd personally never buy Office from any web site - not even from
Microsoft.com (which incidentally a third-party is actually used for the
online purchases for Microsoft and they don't exactly have a phone number
you can call when you encounter difficulties. <sigh>). If you are interested
in purchasing Office then I'd go to my favorite retailer and purchase the
boxed software. That way you are guaranteed to get your installation CDs
(which you may not get with a purchase from a web site) and you're
guaranteed MS support if you need a replacement product key or replacement
CDs. And you're guaranteed to be charged only once for your purchase. ;-)

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email cannot be acknowledged.

To add to Beth's excellent advice, I'd recommend going thru Amazon.com. You
not only get your CDs from a reputable dealer but you'll save a few bucks
too. That *always* makes me happy. ;-)
