Address Book: Can't Add to Dist Group in Personal

P

Phil Milgrom

When I try to add a contact to any personal distribution
list in my personal address book by selecting a contact
from the global list and transferring it into the personal
list, I get an error after I Apply. [space to let you
breathe] It says the member could not be added to the
list. The only way I can add members is by manually
entering the email address.

This problem is seen using my Personal Address book on my
home and work PC (Outlook 2002). I tried repairing Office
and that did not work. I tried creating a new profile.
That did not work. I have asked my company's Outlook
specialists for help, but they could not figure out the
resolution other than my address book is corrupted.
However, I have tried old copies of the same address book
that I know were "healthy" and still see the same problem.

Appreciate help! Thank you.

First question is why are you using a Personal Address Book? PAB's were
replaced by the Outlook Address Book many years ago. They exist only for
legacy purposes and there is no reason to use them in any version of Outlook
later than Outlook 98.
