Address Label Etiquette

Chris

I am in the process of training our company on proper etiquette for address
labels. Does anyone know where I can get samples?

Etiquette on address labels? Do you mean proper format for the mailing
labels? If so, the US post office has that information, as do the post
offices for Great Britain and Scotland (Royal Mail), South Africa,
Australia, and Canada (Canada Post).

I was interested in your reply and came upon what seems to be a
good site:
http://www.bitboost.com/ref/international-address-formats.html

It's rather good on examples as the OP requested. However, it
may be a little out of date since it does not mention 9-digit US
Zip codes. Another thing that I ought to have noticed before but
had not was the Germanic custom of putting personal titles on a
separate line, eg.

That's why I resorted to suggesting the post office sites. I actually have
the links to those countries' sites on my computer at home. I recently
created a handbook with almost 30 pages of addresses and several were
foreign. Being the anal person I am, I researched the correct format. I
found the Bitboost site but, as you say, it's not exactly current and (in my
opinion) not the authoritative source for that information.

i think that labeling standards can
be addressed by the the postal services.

on the otherhand, label etiquette can
be addressed by Ms. Cup Cake:

i think that in the end the government
usually gets there way instead....
