Address program from exporting to Office Suite

What is a good address/contacts software program that will allow me to
export contact info in Excel spreadsheet or use with MS Word mail
merge. I have a iBook G4 Mac OS X v.10.4 and just ordered MS Office
Suite 2004 for macs. I read on Microsoft's website that Outlook only
works up to version 10.2. I am willing to pay for a good, preferably
easy to use address book software program if it can do these things.

Perhaps an Access database?
When you get Office, open Access and hit File-->New and choose "On my
computer", hit the Databases tab and choose Contact Management.

Access does not come with my Mac suite. I get Word, Excel, PowerPoint
and Entourage (I am not familiar with Entourage but I've read it is
complex). I would like an address book that works well for email (like
Outlook) and exports into Word, and perhaps Excel. Access would not
really do that. A database would not really have the features that an
address book would (like a direct link to my email). I will be using
the Address book more in the traditional way (through email) than as
mail merge in Word. I just do not want to duplicate the work by
creating two sets of contacts. Although if I can export certain fields
out of my address book (as a group of contacts) and import them into
Excel that would be great. I think I can use Excel with mail merge.

That's right! They don't make Access for Mac (at least not last time I
checked. Another good reason to look at OpenOffice...). And Entourage is
complex, just like Outlook is. Complex but not complicated. Just go
ahead, and you'll have more or less the same functionality. I believe
you can even connect to a MS-Exchange server, if that's your office
collaboration platform, and you can probably import/export outlook
address books, if that's not the native format of Entourage. I'm not
quite sure.
