Administrative project 2000 -> 2003

Hello experts,
I created with Project 2000 stand alone a project with all the non project
time, something that MS called an Administrative project in 2003 version.
I imported all the schedule projects in Project server 2003, but it is not
possible to import the Administrative one : Project Server 2003 refuses to
create an Administrative Project which has already tasks and resources.
The manual data entry in the Administrative project is especially boring and
time consuming. The copy/paste has weird results. What solution did you
adopt for such a case ?
Thanks

The solution is very simple: import your project as a regular project that
functions like an administrative project. Many users have been frustrated
by the limitations and quirks of the default Administrative project feature
in Project Server 2003 anyway, so you'd probably be better off using a
regular project for this purpose. About the only problem I think you may
encounter with this approach is when a task has no Remaining Work and the
resource has selected the Current Tasks option on their timesheet in PWA,
which hides the task on their timesheet. In this case, the team member can
either select the All Tasks option to see the task or can add a few hours to
the "bucket" for that particular administrative task to make it a Current
task. Hope this helps.
