Administrator rights Ohotfix

J

Jesper Nielsen

Want to apply Sp1 of Office 2003 using Ohotfx. Easyest way should be using it in a login script, but the installation won't work as there are no user rights.

I expected that and searched the net and found the /q:a parameter.

It still doesn't work, but I guess Ohotfix needs to know an administrator username and password, but how?

Hi Jesper,

You can use ohotfix
http://microsoft.com/office/ork/xp/journ/ohotfix.htm
in a batch file/script, but yes, the update would have
to 'know' what its updating (i.e. registry and file
permissions).

This article has a couple of examples that you may want
to compare to your script and method.

You may also want to review the whitepaper here for
more information on adjusting ohotfix.
