After I downloaded Adobe Acrobat 7.0 I have been unable to read Adobe files
in Internet Explorer. The only way to read the files is to save them to a
seperate location, open Adobe 7.0 and then read them. And for some reason
Adobe 7.0 does not show up in Add and Remove Programs. ANy help is
apprecuated

Um, this is the Microsoft Office Miscellaneous newsgroup. It's for questions
about Microsoft Office applications. Neither Adobe Acrobat nor Internet
Explorer are part of Office.

I think you'll be better served if you go to the Adobe site for your
answers. http://www.adobe.com and
http://www.adobe.com/support/forums/main.html

1) If you have downloaded Acrobat 7.0 then you're a thief. Adobe Acrobat
is commercial software and is *NOT* available for download.

2) This group is for MS Office - if you're having issues with an Adobe
application, why are you posting here? Mind you, they won't help a thief.

3) IE doesn't have anything to do with Office, either.

I *highly* doubt it. I've been chatting back and forth with Sarah for about
2 years now and she's never given me any indication that she would use or
even advocate pirated software.

Really? That info is from experience, but you go ahead and take the word and
trust someone you have never met or experienced in person. How foolish.

I dealt with the applicable topic. The rest of that hate-filled post was one
person's opinion. I have my own.

I have my own opinion as well which, by the way, isn't crafted by the narrow
constraints of one newsgroup as your opinion appears to be. Have you seen
any of Tick's hate filled posts? If you haven't then enlighten yourself.

If I see an animal and it quacks and it has feathers and it likes to swim
and fly north in the winter what would that be? If others pointed out and
saw these same attributes I would be stupid to think it was anything but a
duck. Could it be some other animal? sure, but I doubt it. Why are there so
many posts ragging on Tick and how unattractive her newsgroup etiquette is?

Sure I have. She even toasted my butt before we started chatting. Although I
tend to take some things a little too personal, I found her humorous. Her
technique for helping others isn't mine but it's not my job to teach her a
"kinder and gentler" way to respond. I have a tough enough time holding my
sarcastic side back at times. I KNOW I couldn't control hers.

Unfortunately, those types of responses only validate the behavior and
doesn't change a thing. If anything it only opens the door for more
exchanges that could be viewed as offensive, such as this thread.

Through the years I've seen one person after another attempt to
out-flame, out-wit, and out-last Sarah. The end result is always the
same, others end up getting involved and they end up flaming each
other. I don't see how that benefits anyone and there has never been a
sole survivor. ;-)

In these types of situations there really is no resolution except to
rely on netiquette and "not feed the trolls". Kill-file them if you
must, but responding to obnoxious posts only keeps the thread alive
and ends up becoming worse than the original "obnoxious post" which if
ignored, will quickly die and the fewer that see it the better.

Take this thread for example, it was the number and frequency of the
replies that drew my attention to it. Had it not been for that I would
have never read beyond Echo's reply which answered the poster's
question.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.
