Adobe PDF maker add-in does not appear in applications of Office20

My problem:
Adobe PDF maker add-in does not appear in my new Word, Excel and PP
(Office2007)
In spite it was perfectly working in Offices 2000 and 2003.

I have spent a few days trying to solve this problem.
Simple activation via Options/Add-ins does not work.
Acrobat PDFMaker Office Com Addin is available in active applications.
In my case it is: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat
7.0\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll

However, the PDF symbol does not appear in Add-in Tab and Tab itself remains
inactive and does not appear in the ribbon.
I have tried a few times to deactivate and activate this dll manually, but
it does not help.

I have found some recommendations in the library of MS office:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA102277541033.aspx
I have manually removed PDFMOfficeAddin.dll into Office12\Startup. Does not
work.

I have found some recommendations in on-line help of Adobe:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401734&sliceId=2
I have made a new entry into registry. Does not work as well.
I have also verified that macros are deactivated in my Office.
In my Office Trust Center the add-ins are fully allowed.

I could not find any other suggestions regarding this problem neither in FAQ
nor in the MS library.

At this point I have exhausted my skills.

What should I do?
Help, pleeeez.
Thank you very much in advance!

I presume that you have downloaded the latest updates for Acrobat as there
are incompatibility issues in earlier versions. What is the exact version
you have installed?

You have Acrobat 7. You need Acrobat 8.1 or later if you want to use
the Acrobat PDF toolbar in Office 2007 applications. You can still
print from Office 2007 to the Acrobat PDFWriter and Distiller printer
drivers in any Acrobat version.

I indeed have an Acrobat 7.0 which is updated to 7.09.
It is still very strange: I have this add-in in my list of active add-ins,
it must mean that Office recognises it…
Thank you very much for your respond, anyway.

I have downloaded SaveAsPDFandXPS.exe from Microsoft, and now activated this
add-in function in my Office.
I have added this button to Quick Access Tool bar, so it seems functioning
almost the same as Acrobat tool. Will see further how it works.

As you have now been told, v7 is incompatible with Office 2007. I suggest
that if you are keeping Acrobat 7, you run Acrobat setup and uninstall the
Office add-in options as these may cause some problems.

Am running Acrobate 8 Pro and MS Word 2007 both with the latest updates. The
PDFMaker quit showing on Word 2007 after the latest update - I ran through
all but the last (Soulution 5) without sucess - guess I will have to
uninstall and install Acrobat pro 8 again as it is that last solution to the
issue

I was running Acrobat Pro 8 perfectly, and when I upgraded to Acrobat 9, the
PDF Maker button is missing. I uninstalled the upgrade and returned to
version 8, but the PDF Maker button still missing. I tried all the solutions
posted, but nothing seems to work. And by the way, the Acrobat 9 version
works very different than version 8. I hope to find a solution to this
problem.

After I wrote the above statement, I decided to run updates to Acrobat Pro 8
and found version 8.1 and this update solved the problem. Now the PDF Maker
button is once again back in my office applications.

So if you have MS 7 apps you cannot create pdfs unless you upgrade to 8?

You can't create them with Acrobat. You can create PDFs with the free PDF
add-in that you can download from the MS site.

Under the Office tool bar in Word, go to
- Word Options
- Add Inns
- Manage (bottom left-hand corner)
- Select Disabled Items
- Enable
- Restart Word or Excel and it will work
