Adobe shockwave player

I have IE8 Windows Vista Home Premium SP2. I had uninstalled Adobe shockwave
player and then tried to reinstall it. And when I hit the download button
instead of the shockwave downloading it has a little red x in the left had
corner of the box and I can not install it. I do not know if I am in the
right place but I hope someone can help.
