I'm having a peculiar situation in that an access UI is

unable to connect to a SQL Server back end. It is a
machine specific issue (same person can log into another
machine and run fine).

What's particularly confusing is, from the machine that

the user interface won't work, I can ping the db server,
also I can create an ODBC connection and then in a
standard mdb file create linked tables to the exact tables
I am using in the access UI that do not work!
