adp disconnected

I have installed SQL Server 2000 (SP3) and Access 2002 (SP2).
When I open the Northwind.adp project, the database container displays
"disconnected".
When I open File Connection, enter the parameters for the NorthwindCS
database logon, Test Connection succeeds.
Pressing OK still displays "disconnected" in the database container.
No tables or queries display in the database container.
However, I can open the Northwind forms and view data.
Can anyone tell me how to resolve this situation so that I can work with the
SQL Server tables?
