adp running on Citrix

Relby

Hi All

I have developed an application using SQL backend and adp (Arron will be
pleased!).

I have looked at some threads but cannot find a definitive answer.

Can a adp front end be hosted on a citirx server and used by multiple users?
The idea is to speed the application up as the network is run by snails.

Would have to run a copy of the front end for each user?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Yes, same as with MDBs.

Each user should get their own copy of the ADP for the same reasons as
for MDBs.

Really? An ADP is not a Jet database, but some form of XML file, no?
Are there really issues like there are in an MDB/ACCDB? In the
latter case, it's quite clear that they can't be shared because of
the way the Access project is stored. But that's a function of the
Access project being stored in a data field in a data table. ADP's
have not database, but are just complexly structured non-database
files.

Is it really issue?

Not to my knowledge. If you open an ADP up in Notepad it's quite
different than an MDB although there are similarities in places.
It's definitely a binary form.

As far as I know yes this is an issue. But I have nothing concrete to
base my opinion on.
