advanced e-mail option for "Suggest names..."

My advanced e-mail option is turned ON for "Suggest names
while completing To, From, Bcc fields", but it doesn't seem
to work the way it did a couple of weeks ago. Nothing has
changed that I am aware of. Right now, it only seems to
work for addresses that I have typed in during my current
session - doesn't seem to know about anything I typed in
yesterday or last week. It used to suggest addresses that I
had typed in a long time ago. Do you know why it doesn't
seem to remember what I've typed into those fields before?

I don't know why the names cache is getting cleared every
time I exit Outlook. Maybe it is corrupt and needs to be
recreated? Don't even know if this is the problem.

I don't know how the cache rebuilds; I don't understand the
methodology it uses. Does anyone have experience with this
problem or info on how this feature works?

Thanks!

This is far more likely to be a corrupt profile than a corrupt
autocompletion cache (NK2 file). Profiles are far more fragile. NK2 files
are pretty resilient.
You'll need to create a new profile for autocomplete to start working. If
you want to try to recover your old autocompletion data, look for the NK2
file from your former profile. Rename the NK2 file created by your new
profile, then rename your old NK2 to match the new one and place it in the
same directory. Make sure you do al this with Outlook closed.
If you don't need your old data, just start using your new profile and
populate its cache.
