Hi,
Hope this one makes sense - it is a bit complicated.
I am currently instructing outlook to sort my inbox by FLAG STATUS then
by FLAG COLOR then by RECEIVED, all fields descending. Furthermore I
have a rule that assigns a red flag to all new messages. All of this
allows me to
1- sort my inbox by most recent messages (most recent being on the top
of list)
2- bump to the very top messages that have a tick mark (Flag Complete)
or a red flag
3- red flagged messages come before flag complete messages.
This combination works really well so far because it allows me to
always see new messages and messages I read and need to deal with on
the top of my list. I utilize Flag Complete for messages that are not
urgent but need a follow up. Red Flagged messages are for immediate
attention thus they are on the very top always, even above some
messages that are more recent then them.
And here is my problem. When it is time for me to deal with one of
these "need attention" messages, I usually need to refer to all the
related messages in my entire inbox. I know Outlook 2003 has a feature
that brings up all the related messages for a message but the process
to do this is too long. What I would like to have is this:
While keeping what I have, I want outlook to pull all messages relating
to a flagged message and group them so that if I am looking at, say
message A, I can click the plus sign and see all the past messages to
or from that person. By having this happen in my inbox view, I will
still benefit from the preview pane. I have spend many hours trying to
figure out how to do this and failed! If you have any idea how I can do
this, please let me know.
Thanks,
Voyager
