after batch conversion can't open a word doc in word 2003

Hi,

After using the batch conversion wizard to convert WordPerfect files to a
Word 2003 file, I have to use the open with command to open in Word. I have
the trial version of Word 2003 installed as we need to see if we can convert
hundreds of files first. Any suggestions anyone?
