We installed Office 2003. Now, whenever we try to access Word 2003, Word
2000 reinstalls itself.

If you meant to say that whenever you try to access Word 2000, it reinstalls
itself, then this is correct. I imagine there are workarounds, but I run 4
versions here, and have to cancel the "fixing" every time I switch...

No, we open any of the Office 2003 applications and Office 2000 reinstalls.
We ran them together for a while but this kept happening, so we've tried to
remove Office 2000 and it won't go away. It was installing from a network,
so we've removed the programs from the server but there's something still on
the clients that keeps associating the file extensions with the 2000 exe
files. It keeps trying to install 2000 even through it hasn't access to the
program files to do it.

I would completely remove both and reinstall 2003.
