After last update Entourage crashes and will not quit when HTMLis present . . .

Since I ran the last Office 2004 Update Entourage crashes and I get the Send
Error to MS window that asks if I want Entourage to restart, which it never
does, after the window goes away Entourage just sits there and eventually in
the Forced Quit window it shows "not responding" and you have to force quit
it to get it to go away.

Up to the 11.2.3, or whatever update allowed Spotlight to index mail in
Entourage, all was stable and solid. Since and especially now since the last
update it has become severely unstable as has Word.

This is Office 2004 is currently version:
Entourage 11.4.0
Word 11.5.0 (080429)

Anyone have any ideas?

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Delete these cache files:

~/Library/Caches

com.microsoft.browserfont.cache
tasmanbrowser.cache

If that does not fix it, I suspect it's your base system files.

You might need to download the combo updater from Apple and run it again
rather than using Software Update. Doing so overwrites potentially
problem-causing files. Several users have reported this fixed some odd
problems they were having with Office. Combo updaters will install on the
same version as they¹re applying‹no need to roll back or do a clean install.

Leopard:

Mac OS X 10.5.4 Combo Update
(For both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs )
<http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1054comboupdate.html>

Tiger:

Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update (PPC)
<http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx10411comboupdateppc.html>

Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update (Intel)

<http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx10411updateintel.html>

If that does not fix the problem you might need to do an "Archive &
Install."

"Archive and Install" moves existing system files to a folder named Previous
System and then installs Mac OS X again.

Just be sure to check Preserve Users and Network Settings when you select
Archive & Install.
