I have Microsoft Office XP Standard on my PC. Recently my MSWord has failed
to start correctly and wants to start in the "safe mode".. which it can't do.
It then comes back with "MSWord has encountered a problem and needs to shut
down" and does after sending out a report. I've further found that the other
components Excel and PowerPoint also refuse to load and shut down.
I've tried removing MS Office and reloading it which does not solve the
problem. I have a lot of Desktop Publishing programs on my computer that I
use for scrapbooking and I'm always upgrading them with newer versions. I
tried to do a little research on the problem and came across a possible
problem with the ODBC registry being hijacked or corrupted with newer
versions of software. Could this be the case and if so, how would I tell and
how would I fix it?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
