All emails deleted on folder access

Outlook 2003 on Exchange 2003.

New Dell computer two days ago, running Windows XP SP2 on Win 2003 network.
One of 11 identical computers; the other 10 are working normally.

No problems for first 24 hours. Now, whenever user clicks on a folder, the
existing emails appear, and then are immediately deleted. Sometimes a
dialog box pops up asking if you want to permanently delete these messages,
sometimes not. If the dialog does pop up, clicking No, dismisses the box,
but it immediately pops right back up. Of course the user clicked on
nurmerous folders in her Mailbox and in Public Folders before reporting the
problem.

I can restore the missing email, but what the hell is happening? I have
company-wide virus scan running right now.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tim C

Virus scans are coming up negative.

Closing and reopening Oulook seems to have cleared the problem for now.

But now I don't trust the computer or the network.

Does anyone have any idea what might have cause it?

Thanks,
Tim C

Keyboard sticking or PS2 port issue on the motherboard?

That appears to be what it was. The keyboard connects to a PS2 KVM switch
which goes to an adapter which connects to a USB port on the computer. The
problem may be in those connections and conversions somewhere, but I am
leaning towards a stuck key, as the user is a heavy sunflower seed eater.
