All emails suddently going to Junk Email folder

I began using Outlook 2003 about six weeks ago on a new notebook and
everything was fine. Suddenly all my emails are being directed to the junk
folder. I followed Help advice about designating emails as safe, not junk,
etc. and creating more email rules, to no avail. The only change in my work
process has been the removal of the free trial Trend Micro antiviral program
that came with the notebook and nstallation of Norton Antivirus. At this
point if I cannot configure junk email to perform better I'd rather delete
the junk email folder, but I cannot figure out how to do that. But first, is
there any way to fix the all-junk-email problem? Thank you.

Have you tried starting Outlook with the /resetfolders command line switch?

How to:
Select Start > Run
Type: outlook.exe /resetfolders
OK button

Thank you for the fast response. I just executed the command and re-launched
Outlook. I'll let you know what happens when I receive some new emails.

Update: I just received an email that I have a rule for that is supposed to
send it to a specific folder. It sent it to that folder, but it also sent it
to the junk email folder. So the email message is sitting in two places --
the junk folder and the designated folder.

Have you ever used MDBVU32? The reason that I ask is that this utility that
can be downloaded from Microsoft will help determine what the "Receive" (aka
Inbox) is. If this utility shows the Junk E-mail folder, I would create a
new mail profile (with a new PST) via the mail applet in the control panel
and delete the old one.

Have you checked the deafult settings by going to:

1) Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
2. Click View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.
3. In the Deliver new e-mail to the following location box, click
Personal Folders
4. Click Finish, and then restart Outlook.

This should reset everything.

Also, delete all rules you might have set as they would over-ride this
settings.

Neo, have not used this. Found it on MS download site, which says it's for
Windows 2000 and Server. Will this work on a notebook (no network) that runs
XP?

Thanks again.

Tried it, still no luck. All emails are going to Junk folder as well as the
Inbox folder. I appreciate your help though.

Powwowall,

You're not crazy. Same thing happing to people all over the place.

I've tries everything stated here in this group and still no luck. I have
1000's of documents in my Inbox in folders and havee never had ANY trouble
until recently. We route 1000's of resumes a day for people to get work,
WHAT A MESS!!!

Somewhere in MSFT they know there is an issue. But where is the fix?

I've run a defrag, a registry clean, all cookies gone, detect and reapir,
set outlook on the lowest level for junk-mail, I've rewriten my mail rules,
since I'm not on exchange it's not a server issue I'm POP3 from my ISP.

I had this problem when I installed Mcafee Anti-virus (Security Suite), it
seemed to randomly class a lot of my emails as junk and to move it before I
had chance to see it. I decided to stop using the Anti-Spam part of the
product.

Not sure what options there are in Norton, but try dropping the security
level on their email handling section. I don't think that Office is to blame
for this problem.
