All imported appointments marked as new

I often download appointments from various forums, and they are always stored
as new. I have to go through my calendar and find all those appointments,
open them again (I opened them originally to save them), and save them again
so that they are no longer marked as new.

1. Is there a way to automatically save them as not new?

2. Is there a way to sort/filter appointments so that I can see all the new
ones together?

What criterion are you using now to distinguish new from "not-new"? What
version of Outlook?
