All office icons are set to default/generic

I have Office 2007 installed under Windows 7. All the icons for every app
are this generic icon... hard to describe. Here's the odd thing... if I go
into Default Programs and file associations, all the office icons in the list
for extensions like .doc are broken yet if I click on .doc, the header of the
window shows the proper Word icon.

How do I get the proper icons to show up for Office documents? (this isn't
just word, it's everything Office; access, outlook, etc)

Thanks!

(Actually, it's not just that. My skype client shows up on the taskbar with
a broken icon yet it's fine everywhere else)

Thank you for posting back with your discovery. We trust you will be
upgrading the memory in the afflicted PC to resolve the problem.

Same problem here, but No memory issues (6GB RAM w/77% free).
Office 2007 and 2003 installed. ONLY 2007 has the icon issue.
Windows 7 x64 factory installed

only additional note is that the icons were fine post install. This
occurred after I ran windows update to get office updates shortly after that.

I have the same problem, all Office 2007 icons are generic. I have 6 gigs of
RAM, so no issues there. Mine changed after the Windows 7 Update as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
