XP Pro, running Outlook 2000 (IMO). With no warning, all
of a sudden I can't see any of my personal folders and
all of the contents of the inbox are also gone. Created a
new one when it asked, but even it doesn't work -- "no
server is available". When I try to open the original
(\windows\application
data\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst), I get the error -
Properties for this information service must be defined
prior to use, followed by - The messaging interface
returned an unexpected error.
I have tried updating Outlook with all the latest
patches, enabling large tables, rebooting and poring over
numerous items in the Knowledge Base. This file is only
118MB in size, but has 5 years worth of emails in it. I
may have a very old backup, but nothing recent. Am I
screwed?
