All received emails have a gray background....

and this is regardless of who sent it. I've sent myself emails from work
with a particular stationary but the background is always gray. How do I
adjust my setting to see what background is being sent?

Are you sure that they have a background and that it is not just your
general Windows settings which is set to gray?
