HI,

We are using Project Server 2003 on Win 2003.

We are facing a problem where all the columns which are present in Project
Plan are not seen in the Project web access. How can I get all the columns
which are there in Project Plan in Project web access? Also newly added
columns are not seen in Project web access after adding new columns and
publishing. But when it is opened again from Project web access, we are able
to see all the columns in Project Pro 2003.

Please let us know why it is happening and what is the solution to resolve
this problem.

Expecting early response.

Thanks,
Vani

Dale,

I mean column means like Duration, Planned Start, Planned Finish, Resources,
etc. any Column in that case. While creating the plan we have few columns
added to the plan right, all these columns are not displayed in PWA in
Project Center. Only few of them are seen. Also when new cols are added after
publish and again when the plan is republished, the newly added columns are
also displayed in PWA in Project Center.

You will need to create custom Project Center and detailed Project views in
PWA to match the Views you see in Microsoft Project. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale.

I am able to get the columns I need by changing the Views in Projects. But
only problem I am facing is that, when a Custom column like "Text1" named as
"CRS" is inserted in the Plan then it is getting displayed as Text1 not as
"CRS". How can I display "CRS" in Projects view?

Also, Is it possible to set the View for a particular Project not for all
the projects across organization?

Please clarify.

Thanks,
Vani

You need to publish the project using Collaborate - Publish - All
Information for each project in the portfolio to "push" the information in
this field to PWA. Doing so will also cause the name CRS to appear in PWA.

To answer your second question, when you create Project Center and detailed
Project views in PWA, they can be applied to all projects in the
organization. There is no way to limit the view for use with only one
particular project. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale for your continuous support.

I tried as you said Collaborate - Publish - All Information, I tried even
all the optoins available under collaborate->Publish. But still I am facing
same problem. I get only Text1 not the CRS, also data in this column is not
displayed in PWA.

Please suggest me the solution to resolve this problem.

Thanks,
Vani

Two further questions:

1. Are you using the enterprise Task text1 or the local Text1 field?
2. Where in PWA do you wish to see this column? Project Center? View My
Tasks? Where?

Dale,
In Project Pro 2003, in the project plan when you say insert column you will
be getting list of columns which can be added to the existing plan. Here I am
adding Text1 and renaming it to CRS. In CRS column I am having data as well.
Now when I publish this plan, I am getting only Text1 without any data in PWA
in "View a Project". ie, from Project center page by clicking a Project link.

Thanks,
Vani

When you insert a column in Microsoft Project Professional, and then
"rename" it, I assume that you are giving it a new name in the Title field
of the Column Definition dialog. If this is the case, then you are not
renaming it at all. The Title field is like a "nickname" for the field.

If you wish to use a custom field for display in PWA, you should ask your
Project Server administrator to add a custom enterprise field that meets
your needs to the Enterprise Global file, and to actually rename the field
using Tools - Customize - Enterprise Fields. Once he/she has done so, you
can add this new enterprise field to your project plans, and he/she can add
the new column to the appropriate Project Center and Project views in PWA,
and then when you publish, the column will appear in PWA with its correct
name. Hope this helps.
