All users cannot view docx files after compatibility pack installed

I am hoping that someone can help me with this issue. I have apx 60
users that connect to a Windows 2000 terminal server. Of course Office
2003 is installed here. I have "installed" the compatibility pack for
Office 2007 on this server but it seems that only administrators can
convert docx files. How can I get the remainder of my users to access
the pack so that they can view files sent in Office 2007 formats? Any
advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

AFAIK the compatibility pack has to be installed on each workstation - it's
not a Server-side application. (I stand to be corrected on that if it's
wrong...)

It doesnt make sense that I would have to install this update 60 times on the
same server...I cant be the only person using terminal services or citrix
(full desktop) that is experiencing this issue.

I have also found that all administrators can access files created with
Office 2007 through the terminal server which leads me to believe that there
is a permission issue but I am unsure where I need to look...Please help...

Thanks

So your users are accessing the program files from the server and they
don't have Office installed locally on their workstations?

Hi Jimson,

The Office 2007 products are basically per machine installs when deployed. The process here should, in general, also apply to the
compatibility pack deployment.
