my suggestion is primarily for backup and restore options. I use the
folders much like a directory structure to manage work , such as projects or
topics of discussion or problems being worked on.
so I have a PST name Projects CLOSED and Projects open, with the next layer
being the actual project and then subfolder below that for further details of
each project, such as meeting notes , status reports , etc...
The issue is trying to do a backup. As more projects get closed that PST
gets very large and will take a long time to backup, rather than just adding
the new project folder that was closed, obviously a full backup has no issues
as it will always backup everything no matter how it is stored.
Also in a recovery, it may be nice to bring back 1 Project instead of a
whole PROJECTS OPEN PST and then have to move the files and then delete this
file again.
I'm not sure what impact this would have to performance of outlook.
