allow text placement in a fixed position

i want to have a text form field at the bottom of the page. i do not want to
use a bunch of returns because i need the lines above this particular line to
be flexible. if any of them ran over one line long, it'd push my bottom line
to the next page. i can't put it in a footer because i want to have it have
a tabbable form field. and i can't have form fields in text boxes.

wordperfect 5.1 (ages and ages ago) had this feature. i could set the line
property to be exactly at 8.48" or whatever.

Use a frame instead of a text box. You'll find the Frame button on the Forms
toolbar. Draw the frame as you would a text box. Then right-click its edge
and choose Format Frame. Set the vertical position to Bottom relative to
Margin (or anywhere else you want). You can also use the Borders & Shading
item to turn off the frame's borders.
