MS Word automatically uses formatting of section following section break when
section break is deleted. They need to offer user option of keeping the
formatting of section prior to section break also.

Why? If you understand the basics of how sections work then you can surely
use them Word's way?

Besides, Microsoft is not, as far as I'm aware, a democracy. If they want
their program to work a certain way then that's up to them!

Totally true!!! Who wants to keep the format of the section after the
section break you're about to delete?????
